1st Annual Bolton Ribfest
Will Rev Up The Community
The first annual Bolton Rotary Ribfest will be taking place on July 12th-14th at the Albion Bolton fairgrounds. The Bolton Rotary Club has been working tirelessly to make sure that they smoke out the other ribfests with the best ribs and entertainment, and create an event that brings the entire community together.
Five award winning ribbers will be at the fairgrounds all weekend, barequing and smokingto satisfy hungry meat-lovers. There will be a farmer’s market on Saturday boasting bushels of fruits and veggies to please everyone, and a beer tent that will be bringing in quite the crowd. There will be tons of food for everyone and a wide variety of choices to satisfy everyone’s appetite.
Despite the name “Ribfest” the weekend is about so much more than just great ribs. The fairgrounds will be host to a wide variety of games and entertainment, for those who crave a little more than great food. There will be many musical artists performing which was made possible by Music 21 in Bolton and Fines Ford Lincoln for sponsoring the entertainment. Bob Fines of Fines Ford Lincoln in Bolton has had a longstanding tradition of working with the Bolton Rotary Club because of their support for the local community, and he is excited to be sponsoring the entertainment at their first annual Ribfest.
“ Bob Fines has a new barbeque at home and looks forward to learning the tricks of the trade from the ribbers.” Everyone will have to dust off their cowboy boots and wide-brimmed hat because Friday night is country music night. The headliner on Friday is Larry Barrio, a country artist from Sudbury who has opened for the likes of Brooks and Dunn and Terry Clark. On Saturday night blues and jazz artist Tia Brazda will be hitting the stage at Ribfest with her sassy and unique sound. Wendy Lalonde of Music 21 told me that, “there will be plenty of music the whole weekend from Celtic rock to the Rotary Club band.” There will also be a midway for the kids and a mechanical bull for those who are still a kid at heart.
The main event on Sunday will be the classic car show put on by the Caledon Cruisers Car Club. Their weekly car shows have caused quite a few people to take notice to their community building events. They are very excited to be part of the first annual Bolton Rotary Ribfest and are looking forward to a successful event, hopefully with many more to come.
Ribfest is sure to be a fun community event to bring everyone together. So come out on July 12th-14th at the Albion Bolton fairgrounds for a charbroiled good time.
