GMC is already boasting their new 2017 Acadia is bound to turn heads and make a lasting impression for several reasons, including what they refer to as a ‘confident stance’ and new styling hailed as bold by the manufacturer. The exterior will feature distinctive grille designs, new wraparound headlamps, wrap around rear glass, and the option of 17”, 18” or 20” wheels.
Hailed as a jack-of-all-trades vehicle due to its versatile ability to tackle both trails and city roads, the Acadia will feature some of the latest technology to allow for easier access to hands-free mobile options, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G LTE connectivity, mobile Wi-Fi options, and access to 5 USB ports.
The vehicle can fit up to seven passengers with easy access to the third row through its enhanced second-row Smart Slide seats. Not only is there plenty of storage (including underfloor cargo storage and an optional 2nd row pullout console drawer), but the Acadia also employs a built-in seat release lever to make folding of the second-row seats to a flat position even easier. Along with keyless entry/start, the Acadia has improved safety features including automatic emergency braking, a rear vision camera, Stabilitrak with traction control, and rear park assist. Its Side Blind zone alert displays a symbol in the outside mirror to notify the driver a vehicle has entered the Acadia’s blind spot, and the alert will flash an extra warning should the driver signal while the vehicle is still there.
The safety features also include a rear cross traffic alert utilizing radar sensors to warn drivers of approaching cross traffic when the vehicle is backing up.
The vehicle is availble in four models—the SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1, and SLT-2, and comes standard with front-wheel drive, 193-hp 2.5L 4-cylander engine, or a 310-hp 3.6L V-6 engine (for the latter models), 8 air-bags, LED daytime running lamps, leather-wrapped steering wheel with Bluetooth and cruise controls, rear-controlled temperature and more. Opting for the SLT models means a boost from a 6-speaker sound system to a Bose 8-speaker premium sound system.
Pricing begins at $35,095 for the 2017 GMC Acadia.
