The Honda Civic has been known over the years for its versatility in design. From being a sporty car sought after by those looking for something more stylish, or a more sleek, luxury sedan, the vehicle has seen many appearances over the years.
The 2017 model of the Civic is the 10th generation of the car, and has been hailed by some reviewers and critics as the sportiest one yet.
Boasting a dual centre exhaust, designed with both style and performance, the base model (LX) features 16” aluminum-alloy wheels, a 174-hp, 1.5-litre 16-valve direct injection, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a rear roofline spoiler.
The Civic comes in five available options: the LX, LX-Honda Sensing, Sport, Sport-Honda Sensing, and Sport Touring.
Design-wise, the 2017 Civic Hatchback features a much more aggressive front fascia, shorter overhangs, and a fastback-like silhouette, as well as more volume and cargo capacity and 36-inches of rear legroom.
The available option of Honda Sensing provides a suite of electronic driver aids through some of the latest innovative technologies, such as Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow traffic crawling.
Other handy tech that will be offered in the Civic include smartphone integration, hill start assist and fuel-saving electronic power steering.
The 2017 model also features a more lightweight, rigid bodyshell, a lower centre of gravity, and a new multi-link independent rear suspension. It has shed 16kg from the body of the vehicle, and the new platform is 52 percent stiffer, hopefully assisting in refinement and handling.
The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will see a base price of $21,390 for the LX model.
