The Kia Forte, one of Kia’s most popular compact cars, has received an updated design and new features in preparation for the 2017 model year. On the exterior, the Forte has received several visual enhancements designed to provide another level of sophistication in its European sport-sedan stylings.
These enhancements include a new front bumper, tiger nose grille (extended to connect with the newly designed headlights), and headlights available in HID lights. The taillights have also been redesigned with optional LEDs.
The idea behind this design was to provide a more fluid appearance, and the visual changes are available in two designs—the sophisticated personality, and a more aggressive, sporty redesign.
The 2017 model has a 2.0-litre engine and six-speed automatic transmission, and is available in three trims—the ‘sporty’ trim (S), an entry-level LX trim, and the EX top-trim model.
Depending on the model, the Forte will feature either 16-inch alloy wheels or 17-inch alloy wheels, and additional features include LED positioning lights, a rear spoiler, and a chrome exhaust tip. Another redesigned option is the Dynamic Bending Light technology. This angles the light around corners and bends by using the steering wheel.
The Forte also includes several advanced driver assistance systems such as the aforementioned Dynamic Bending Light, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Forward Collision Warning.
Pricing for the 2017 Kia Forte begins at $15,495.
