When the new 2018 Volkswagen Passat GT was debuted recently, the consensus was the new Passat does indeed live up to the GT standard expected in the automotive world.
This 4-door sedan style vehicle comes with a 3.6 L, V6 that cranks out 280 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It’s high level performance in a vehicle designed to get you wear you’re going with power to spare on the highway and driving convenience while navigating in the city.
The engines peak power comes at 6,200 rmp. A 6-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters is standard.
In addition to more power the Passat’s suspension as been calibrated for more dynamic handling and the exhaust system was created to produce a more muscular sound.
It may be a sedan but it performs and sounds like a sport type of vehicle and it feels that way when you drive it.
A lot of thought has been put into the exterior design and the new features go well with the GT designation.
On the front, an R-line bumper and honeycomb grille are highlighted by red pinstriping that wraps around the grille and headlights.
There are several colours available including pure white, reflex silver, platinum grey, and deep black, that are designed to enhance the over all look of the Passat and support the sporty style.
The roof is painted black which adds a unique over all appearance as are the mirror caps and window frames.
The exterior is finished with two-tone 19-inch Tornado allow wheels.
The interior is designed to keep up with the GT designation as well.
Designed to make you feel you are driving are car with a high performance designation, the cockpit is designed in black trim and carbon fibre style panels and aluminum accents.
