The Beeton Fall Fair has been a tradition for 156 years in New Tecumseth at the town best known for its honey crop. For the last few years they’ve included a well rounded classic car show in the weekends list of events. This show also includes classic trucks, motorcycles and tractors. Held at the fairgrounds in the centre of town during the middle of September, dozens of participants gather to compete for the judges attention.
This gem of a show is hosted by the fair with the help of committee member Roger Findlay and other volunteers. The awards come from plenty of local sponsors who kindly supply trophies for each class. Being in a Fall fair setting, there are a lot of food vendors, rides and activities to keep the whole family busy. Also, in complete contrast to the car show and for some entertainment value, the fair’s giant demolition derby takes place at the opposite end of the grounds during the day as well.
The wide range of beautiful machinery even comes from areas far outside of Beeton as well. As one participant with a beautiful old pickup truck told me, he loves coming to this show due to it’s choice venue with friendly participants and fans. “You feel welcome in Beeton” he told me. So polish off your pride and joy and join the folks at the Beeton Fall Fair Car Show when you can, you’ll be guaranteed a sweet time! Go to: www.beetonfair.com for details.
