Aurora Toyota lends support to SARC in $50,000 deal
Aurora Toyota is the latest area automotive dealership to lend its
name in support of Aurora’s sports and recreation facilities. Magdi Nicholas, Vice President of Aurora Toyota, along with General Sales Manager Chris Ellwood, joined Mayor Geoff Dawe, Aurora CAO Doug Nadorozny and Parks and Recreation Director Al Downey at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex (SARC) last Wednesday for the formal dedication of the west arena, now known as the Aurora Toyota Arena. Council paved the way for the Aurora Toyota Arena last month, approving a sponsorship and naming arrangement that brings with it $10,000 a year for the next five years into municipal coffers. The Town has also recently struck deals with other automotive companies in the area with McAlpine Ford purchasing the rights to the two arenas at the Aurora Community Centre, while Pfaff Motors snapped up the naming rights to the SARC’s east arena last spring, also for an annual $10,000 over the next five years.
