The 2014 edition of the Canadian International AutoShow offers everything a car enthusiast could wish for, and then some. The prestigious AutoShow, running Feb. 15-23 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, brings the total automotive experience.
There are more than 600,000 square feet of dazzling displays, big prize giveaways and engaging exhibits! Along with the newest and the best, there are interactive displays, demonstrations and a large exotic display. Today’s cars keep their occupants connected, entertained and advised 24/7. They can also connect and communicate with each other and the outside world, to make the driving task easier and keep occupants safer than ever before. The AutoConnect Showcase is a brand new feature at the AutoShow that illustrates the many advanced connectivity and safety technologies already available and explores the road ahead leading to fully autonomous vehicles. The AutoShow is about fun, but it also takes driving very seriously. There is a growing and disturbing trend of vehicle accidents and even deaths caused by distracted driving. Everything from eating while driving, to texting and talking on the phone without hands-free integration are the causes. At the AutoShow, you can try the new simulator, where you experience first hand, what happens to your driving while being distracted. What would the AutoShow be without the feature display of the world’s finest automobiles? The AutoShow is the only place in Canada where you can see this many exotic brands under one roof, at one location. Bugatti, Aston Martin, Maserati and Fisker will leave you awestruck. Celebrate Family Day at the AutoShow Feb. 17. This day the show features an exciting line up of special guests, activities for the whole family and exclusive Family Day prize giveaways! Since the 1950s Mopar has built a respected name within the muscle car community. At the AutoShow, Mopar will be featuring one of the most iconic muscle cars of the 20th century: a tribute to the 1968 Dodge Dart. Celebrating muscle car history will be Chargers, Challengers, Roadrunners, Darts, Super Birds, and the legendary Richard Petty’s #43 NASCAR winning blue Super Bird. A returning favourite, the Sport Compact Evolution, is an dynamic showcase of sport compact vehicles that reflect a lifestyle. There will also be a “Precision Model Garage Display” of custom 1/24-scale models. The show runs noon to 10 p.m. Feb. 14 and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Feb. 22. The final day (Feb. 23) it runs from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre spans two buildings.
