Chevrolet World Record
Over course of the Pan Am Games in Toronto Chevrolet set out on a mission to break a world record. They wanted to see if they could have the most people generating electricity in 1 week, and they did it! It took 4,739 riders & 13,049 watts to complete the world record. Its amazing how one brand can bring people together in a fun interactive way to achieve one goal. To generate the energy Chevrolet set up a mini racetrack with cars that were powered by the human motion produced by stationary bikes and hand cranks. Chevrolet invited people out to help achieve this world record but also to come and have fun too! They encouraged attendees to challenge their friends all in the name of #PowerofPlay.
This is not the first time Chevrolet has attempted a world record. In 2014 Rob Dyrdek teamed up with the Chevrolet sonic to preform the farthest reverse ramp jump by a car, which aired on the Fantasy Factory series finale. The reality TV star, professional skateboarder, and full-time thrill seeker set the record in a specially equipped 2014 Sonic driving backwards at 50mph up a launch ramp. He sailed over 80 feet to the safety catch ramp on the other side with Six Flags Magic Mountain in the background. What record do you think they will try and set next?
