We all know that taking an active role in maintaining our vehicles is the best way to avoid expensive repair bills down the road. Unfortunately, busy lives and long commutes mean things like car maintenance can end up taking a back seat. Fines Ford Lincoln’s new Director of Fixed Operations, Gino Fusaro, acknowledges this and says it’s what has prompted the dealership to increase their service centre hours to Tuesday and Thursday – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We’ve also hired another technician in order to handle additional drop-in service customers,” Fusaro noted, explaining “People lead such busy lives these days… we want to make it as easy as possible for the customer. Opening another late night and opening on Saturday was a no-brainer.”
Fusaro notes they’ve already noticed an increase in business and attributes it directly to those changes. He’s also arranged to carry a line of Ford branded merchandise at the service counter, offering shirts, hats, “man cave” décor, and vehicle accessories which will allow Fines Ford Lincoln customers to personalize their vehicle and wear their brand loyalty proudly.
Fines Service Department has also added a glass chip repair and windshield replacement service. Kevin Gale, who ran the local Apple/Speedy Auto Glass for over 20 years, is now a Fines Service Technician and his expertise in the area allows the dealership to offers glass repair and replacement services in-house to all customers.
Yet another change within the Service Department is that Fines have now partnered with Castrol and offer a fully synthetic option for oil changes. Customers receiving an oil change can now choose between the recommended Ford filter and oil or the Castrol synthetic option. Synthetic oil products produce less friction within the engine, reducing wear and potentially increasing the horsepower and overall efficiency of the engine.
General Manager Carlos Martins is pleased with the improvements and changes but hastened to point out that, while Fines have introduced new services and products like windshield replacement, stone chip repair, accessory installation, custom upholstery and have a new management team in Service and Parts, “…the core group of staff here at Fines Ford Lincoln is still around and the day-to-day business is still – obviously – run by Bob Fines.”
That’s an important fact to point out. After all, Bob Fines has been representing the Ford brand first as a salesperson and then as the dealer in the area for almost 40 years. It is a dealership known for their longstanding community service and commitment to their customers. And that obviously hasn’t changed. Something else that hasn’t changed but that some people may not know is that Fines Ford Lincoln also sells, installs and stores tires for all makes and models. In fact, Ford’s commitment to customers is “We will not be undersold on tires.”
When considering the upgrades and additions versus their cost, Martins is philosophical.
“There’ve been some great improvements. We have a two lane drive-through that lets people get out of the elements when they bring their vehicle in for service. And of course, there is a new, large lounge offering our customers free wifi and coffee. It was expensive to move from the old facilities and to upgrade the facility and expand services, but we see it as an investment. We hope it shows our continued desire to give our customer the best possible experience and to be an important part of the community.”
