Car dealers from around York Region are going the extra mile at Christmas to give back to the community. And this year all of Motoring’s dealership friends and extended family have committed to help those less fortunate at this time of the year “The Pfaff organization does a toy drive at each of its locations,” explained Jon Fraser, General Manager, H.J. Pfaff Audi Newmarket. “We do a toy drive and our employees donate a toy to the York Region Children’s Aid Society. Once we collect all of the toys we donate them. And while the Pfaff family works on charitable donations throughout the year it is Christmas where they focus a lot of their energy.
“Christmas is all about kids,” Fraser added. “And it’s always good to know that every kid can open up a gift on Christmas morning. That is something we like to provide to our community, because we feel that our community is the reason why we are where we are today and so we always look for opportunities to give back.”
Lexus of Richmond Hill’s, “consistently strives to give back to the community”. Led by Michael Murillo, General Manager his team brings together a Food and Toy Drive campaign to help those in need at Christmas.
Its group wide initiative donates food to our local food bank. Toys are donated to Toy Mountain.
Highland GM’s Coats for Kids campaign involves the entire team.
“We had tremendous support from our team and the community,” said Samantha McCormack. We filled a pick-up truck bed in our showroom, with coats, snow pants, boots, hats; bags full of winter clothing,”
Coats for Kids was founded by Jack Mac-Fadden, educator, author and humanitarian. As a teacher, he was shocked one winter to see children shivering in the schoolyard, without hats or coats – and came up with the idea of recycling out-grown winter wear, to ensure that no child had to face a cold Canadian winter unprepared.
Jack passed away last year, but his legacy lives on with the support of numerous volunteers including Jack’s two sons; Johnny and Phillip. (Johnny is a sales rep here at Highland).
If you have any questions about the program itself you may email firstname.lastname@example.org. Phillip looks after that email account.
Just some examples of how your dealerships are giving back to the community at Christmas.
