NewRoads & Big Brothers Big Sisters Classic Car Show &BBQ, a fund raising extravaganza!
What’s The Buzz About? NewRoads Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC, General Manager, Jim VanDusen is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual NewRoads Big Brothers Big Sisters Charity Classic Car Show will be held at the dealership, located 18100 Yonge St., in Newmarket on Sunday, July 14. Registration for both Classic Cars and modified vehicles will be at 10 am at the very small cost of $15. The Show will run from 11 a.m. until 4p.m.
The reason this event is so exciting is the fact that every dollar raised will go towards the Big Brother Big Sister organisation and this year’s event is expected to feature 200 vehicles and the hope is to raise $10,000 for a much valued community organization.
“This is part of who we are and we try to give back to the community. We believe in our community and now they know it,” commented VanDusen who is more than happy to work with his team for this worthy cause.
The Event will also include a huge element for family goers featuring a BBQ, face painting, a jumping castle, mini golf, and the best part is that this event is all free for the public to take part in.
Classic car owners are reputed to be one the most generous charity supporters in every community and VanDusen hopes the turn out will be even better than last year. “We expect to see cars from every decade and new modified vehicle owners are encouraged to come as well. It’s going to be a really fun community gathering for a great cause,” said VanDusen further mentioning there will be raffles, and prizes to be won.
Rhonda Flanagan, Manager of Fund Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters had this to say about the hosts of the event, “It’s great to work with Jim VanDusen and his team. This is a fantastic event and this will help kids from ages 6 to 16. NewRoads doesn’t get anything out of it, but the difference they make to the community is great. This money will go towards the expensive process of making matches that will last for years to come. There are so many kids in our community who benefit by having a “big” in their lives. This will shorten the wait list for 100 children at present.”
Flanagan, also a lover of Classic Car Shows is overjoyed the event will be returning for its second year. “Classic Car owners are always so generous and eager to share their cars with their community and after all, what’s better than a Classic Car Show?!”
Flanagan notes the importance behind all the fun the event has to offer. “This event is also a great opportunity for us to let people know how to be a Big Brother or Big Sister and gives parents the chance to ask questions and gather information. Mentoring works, creating a positive life changing impact on a child’s life.”
NewRoads is no stranger to giving back to the community as they also support Hope In Purple Heels, a Woman’s Shelter, the NewRoads Charity Golf Event and others.
Going the extra mile, the NewRoads &Big Brother Big sister Classic Car Show and BBQ in Newmarket, on Sunday, July 14th is the place to be to help Jim VanDusen and his team give ‘back’ to their community and give ‘to’ a wonderful organization. Rain date scheduled for the following Sunday, July 21.
