Heavy duty trucks do it all at Bolton GM
For many drivers, a pickup truck has become an all purpose vehicle. From light cargo duties to weekends at the cottage, a pickup has become the all purpose vehicle many people use for both running around town and towing their boat to the lake.
For others, however, a pickup truck is a working vehicle that must match the demands of a rigorous payload and meet the challenge of towing a heavy load.
At Bolton GM, they offer a variety of pickup trucks from light duty right up to the heavy duty models built to take the punishment of working on everything from a construction site to a working horse farm.
“We are specialists in heavy duty vehicles,” explained Bolton GM sales consultant, Don Frazer. “All our 2500 and 3500 trucks are heavy duty models. There is a huge difference when it comes to heavy duty trucks. They are built different – the brakes are different. They are heavy duty towing and work vehicles.”
The GMC Canyon is a mid-sized pickup that packs the power to get the job done when you need superior towing capabilities but don’t need a full size truck.
The Canyon was first matched with a Diesel engine in 2016 and the result is a truck that has outstanding performance and exceptional torque.
Available with a Duramax 2.8 L, I-4 Turbo Diesel engine that delivers abundant towing capability and horsepower, the Canyon does it all while providing the best fuel efficiency in its class.
The Duramax engine produces 181 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft of torque.
Mated with a 6-speed transmission, the Canyon can easily to up to 7700 lbs. and together with the superior performance of the Duramax engine, towing on hilly roads is easy and efficient.
The truck bed has ample space for cargo with an available EZ-lift and lower tailgate that provides easy access while loading and unloading.
With the Duramax engine package, the Canyon comes with Trailer Brake Controller and a Diesel Exhaust Brake system making the Canyon the first in its class to offer these vital control features.
Engineered to be tough, the Canyon is also designed to look good on the road.
LED signature front lighting, chrome grille, and projector-beam headlamps together with a refined contoured shape make the Canyon as nice to look at as it is to drive.
The Chevrolet Silverado HD is the standard by which full size heavy-duty trucks are judged.
“This truck is built tough. The Silverado is typically used by horse farms – to haul horses to a show. Or a farm crew that needs a heavy duty truck to haul hay or feed or cattle and a trailer. Then you have your trades people who need a heavy duty truck on the job site,” Mr. Frazer explained of who needs a full sized heavy duty truck.
The Silverado 2500 model is rated for a cargo payload of 3,534 lbs. It can tow up to 14,800 lbs, with a standard gas engine or up to 18,100 lbs., when stepping up to the Turbo Diesel
The Silverado 3500 has the brute strength to tow massive loads – up to 23,300 lb when using a fifth wheel or up to 20,000 lbs when using conventional towing.
Available with both gasoline and Diesel engines, the Silverado has a package to meet your needs.
The standard Vortec 6.0 L V8 engine produces 360 horsepower at only 5400 rpm and creates 380 lb.-ft of torque at 4200 rpm.
For those that need superior towing capabilities, the Silverado is available with a Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine that produces an outstanding 910 lb.-ft of torque along with 445 horsepower.
When you have a really big trailer, there is an available fifth-wheel / Gooseneck Prep Package designed to help provide confidence, stability, safety and control. There is also an available fifth-wheel hitch with an easy drop-in design that can be installed at the dealership.
The Turbo-Diesel is paired with the popular Allison transmission that is noted for it rugged durability and performance.
Along with its rugged design the Silverado features a comfortable and well appointed interior so you don’t have to sacrifice driver comfort for heavy duty performance.
GMC and Chevrolet trucks are the hallmark vehicles when it comes to heavy duty performance and reliability. Whether towing a work trailer to a job site or transporting your horses to the equine show, a GMC truck will get the job done.
