The last time we visited Tire Junction in Bolton, it was getting colder and there was the annual rush of vehicle owners switching to Winter tires before the snow began to fly and the temperatures dropped to below that number on the thermometer where the rubber compound in Winter tires makes a big difference on the road.
This time around, Amar Uppal and his team at Tire Junction are getting their customers ready for Summer driving.
“It’s a bit late this year because of the weather,” Mr. Uppal said of the switch. “But now we’re putting on the all-season and summer tires. We did a lot of winter tires this year – even more than the year before. More people are using winter tires than ever before and taking advantage of the insurance discounts.”
When searching for summer tires, Mr. Uppal said there are a variety of things people look for when making a selection.
“People are looking for value – trying to get the best price possible. Some people are looking for exotic tires for their exotic cars and sports cars. Many people are just looking for all-season tires, some go for strictly summer tires.”
When coming in for a new set of tires, Mr. Uppal takes several things into consideration when recommending a tire for a customer.
He will take a look at the type of vehicle and ask the customer questions like how many kilometres they drive in a year and whether they spend most of their time on the highway or in slower in-town driving.
From there he makes a recommendation based on the customer’s needs.
Tire Junction has a large variety of tires available for all vehicles. They stock well known name brands as well as many off-shore products.
“There’s a lot of new tires coming out on the market,” Mr. Uppal explained. “We have all kinds of brands. We pretty much sell any type or brand of tire. If you want a particular brand or model, we can be very competitive. The best time to buy tires is the present time. Come into the store and we can show you the different makes and models from the brand names to the off-shore tires. With all the testing they’ve done, there isn’t really any difference between brand names and off shore tires any more. They all pass rigorous tests.”
Mr. Uppal knows just about everything there is to know about tires.
A licensed mechanic by trade, he has been in the tire industry for 37 years. He opened the current location in 2007 and has become a ‘go-to’ place for tires in the region ever since.
Tire Junction recently expanded their full-service area and now have a 5000 square foot space that offers tire service as well as full service to cars and trucks.
With the warmer weather just around the corner, a visit to Tire Junction will have you set for safe summer driving.
Tire Junction is located at 11221 Highway, 50, in the south end of Bolton near the intersection of Mayfield Rd., and Albion Vaughn Rd.
