With the hustle and bustle and quick paced action the likes of the New York Stock Exchange, LVG Auctions, an ADESA company, located in Brampton, is filled to the brim with the positive excitement and intensity of a Las Vegas Casino as typically, 1600 potential bidders are in attendance, not including the on line bidders.
Private auctions held expressly for and restricted to dealership owners occur on a weekly basis, held every Wednesday and host a 16 lane runway where 34 Auctioneers auction over 2000 plus vehicles. Because quality at LVG Auctions is high, bidding is fast paced and competitive.
Assistant General Manager, and Auctioneer, Richard Kennedy has been with the company for a proud thirteen years.
“I love my job, and with the internet, bidding can happen from anywhere,” said Kennedy, noting, “LVG Auctions has been hosting public auctions since 1976, and is definitely current in all technological updates.”
ADESA, an American company, has a rich history, growing from its humble beginnings in 1989, becoming a public company in 1992, and is currently a leading vehicle redistribution company throughout North America, Mexico making the parent company the largest provider of wholesale used vehicle auctions in Canada.
“LVG Auctions extend their services to the public and the monthly public auctions are a very convenient place to sell a vehicle via auction consignment,” commented Kennedy.
“Generally 150 cars are available at public auction. We attract all varieties from Cavaliers to Escalades to farming and heavy equipment vehicles including many vehicles from Hydro One, Bruce Power Generation, other dealers, city municipal vehicles and the public trying to sell their own personal vehicles, even lawnmowers. Most buyers are looking for a second vehicle, either for business or personal use,” said Kennedy
The next LVG Public Auction will be held at 190 Sun Pac Blvd, Brampton on Thursday, July 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Kennedy had these recommendations to those who wish to attend, “I would advise consumers to come prepared. Find out exactly what you need to know about the make and model of the vehicle you are interested in. Customers are welcome to bring a mechanic to check out the vehicle they are interested in as vehicles are available for inspection a week in advance of the auction. Although there are no warrantees, if you have the money, you drive the vehicle off the lot that day and vehicles can range in price from $100.00 to thousands of dollars.”
Kennedy explained while providing a tour during this interview, “LVG Auctions offer full service automotive detailing, full service mechanic repair, with highly competitive service rates, probably the best in the city.”
LVG’s website even offers a free appraisal for those interested in selling their vehicle. Although an Auction can last for the day, running into the evening, and the Brampton Auction offers a chip truck, and ice cream truck to help maintain sustenance during these brave and exciting purchases, Kennedy reminds parents that an auction is not a family event to bring small children. Only those 16 years of age and older are welcome to attend.
