Celebrating Ten Years of Community Service
Just like people, there are certain milestones that car dealerships celebrate in a particular fashion. A tenth year in business is one such occasion, which is precisely why Newmarket Volvo is currently hosting a family and friends pricing event. Until the end of the month, a variety of incentives are available to new and existing customers. Any current Volvo owner who brings in a vehicle for a trade-in earns a bonus towards their next purchase, while all buyers have finance rates as low as 0%, or up to $10,000 cash back on selected 2012 models. Those who are looking for something newer can enjoy lease rates as low as 0.9% on 2013 models. First time Volvo shoppers also qualify for additional cash back incentives.
As has always been their approach, Newmarket Volvo is largely focused on new car sales, but they also sell a lot of used cars of all makes and models, standing by the motto that if they don’t have what you want in a used car, they’ll get it for you. As a Volvo dealership, they’re always looking for Volvos to sell. It’s not an easy goal, however. Tony Koubridis, Newmarket Volvo’s General Manager, explains that once people have driven a Volvo, it’s difficult to get them to give it up. While the dealership’s full service centre and body shop deal with all makes and models, Volvo owners in particular return for regular maintenance well past the time most car owners would’ve traded in and gotten a newer vehicle. “We have Volvo owners coming in for servicing who have 250,000 or 300,000 kilometres on their cars,” Tony says. No surprise the dealership is hard-pressed to get used Volvos to offer its customers.
Quality and industry-leading safety features are certainly a big part of the reason for the decades of popularity of Volvos. Tony says that unfortunately most people only really look at Volvo’s stunning list of safety features and innovations once they or a loved one is in a serious accident, while it should instead be topping the list of anyone’s considerations. In a recent series of collision testing, Volvo was the only manufacturer in the world that passed the off-centre impact trials. Still managing to set the new standard of safety innovations, Volvo has never taken its eye off of its primary focus of safety. “It isn’t advertised as much as it used to be,” Tony says, “but Volvos are still by far the safest vehicles on the road.”
And of course it doesn’t hurt that redesigns to the whole line-up have given Volvos much more aesthetic appeal: gone are the boxy looks of past models, in favour of more sleek and sporty lines on all of the vehicles, finally marrying industry-leading safety with genuine visual appeal.
