Just as the automobile industry has changed, so has the way automobiles are sold.
One such example of this is the NewRoads Automotive Group, owned by Michael Croxon. Michael’s NewRoads Group consists of Newmarket Chevrolet, Cadilac, Buick, GMC which opened in October 2010, Newmarket Kia and Richmond Hill Subaru.
The dealer group has been in the automobile business for over 43 years. Because of the high priority on having high quality and very engaged employees – their tenure is amazing. There are many employees with over 5-10 years of service and a significant number over 25 years. The group is centered in York Region having locations is Richmond Hill and Newmarket.
Technology plays an important role in the automobile industry – not just in the manufacture of the automobile and the automobile itself, but also in the way automobiles are sold. NewRoads has an exciting web site where existing and potential customers can obtain quotes, see specials, book appointments, read blogs, see community involvement and simply get the information they desire.
What is NewRoads all about, well perhaps their web site says it best: “Welcome to our NewRoads where it’s not about the car, it’s about striving to deliver a superior car buying and ownership experience to each and every customer. Whether you’re looking to purchase a new or used model or service your vehicle, we’re here to help you every step of the way! Our NewRoads Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC dealership is located on Yonge Street, north of Toronto and south of Barrie, Ontario.”
Recently the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) named the 2013 Cadillac ATS the “Best Luxury Car”. This is based on the fact that the all-new Cadillac ATS is designed and built to compete and win in the compact luxury car segment of the marketplace. Cadillac sets the standard in the world for luxury cars.
Jim VanDusen – General Manager of NewRoads Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC, one of the group’s dealerships points out that it is more than just selling and servicing automobiles.
A key component of the “Culture of NewRoads” is to serve the community.
Thus the slogan “COMMUNITY MATTERS” Recently, the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce awarded The NewRoads Automotive Group the 2012 Large Business of the Year Award. This Business Excellence Award was based, in part, on the amount of participation NewRoads does in and for the local community.
There are many examples of NewRoads contributions to the community, here are a few recent ones: Hope in Purple Heels – Belinda’s Place Woman’s Shelter Fundraiser at the Upper Canada Mall [NewRoads was the title sponsor of this event]; NewRoads Big Brothers Big Sisters Charity Classic Car Show raised over $10,000 in spite of the poor weather that made an appearance for half of the show; Newmarket Children’s Dream Charity Golf Classic [now named the NewRoads Children’s Dream Charity Golf Classic due to the three year and substantial financial commitment by NewRoads]
NewRoads “COMMUNITY MATTERS” activities are not limited to just Newmarket, but reach out to Holland Landing, East Gwillimbury, West Gwillimbury, etc.
NewRoads works closely with the various Town Councils in York Region and if regularly there to help.
In addition to their fundraising activities, some of which take place at NewRoads as well as off site – each year there is an event called “Girls Night Out” which takes place at the dealership. The new cars are removed from the showroom, the parts department and service area are so clean they sparkle and then the event, which occurs in March is ready to begin. Again to show how NewRoads works with the community, participants at last year’s event included Nature’s Emporium, Edward Street – market, bistro and catering, David’s Condiments, etc. There was wine and cheese, a silent auction and even the Central York Fire Services put in an appearance with Jordan Clark of “So You Think You Can Dance Canada”.
In accepting the 2012 Large Business of the Year Award Michael Croxon, President & CEO, NewRoads Automotive Group summed it up – “Clearly our efforts around our core value of “giving back” to our community has not gone unrecognized. And, as we look forward to 2013, our “Community Focus” along with our emphasis on our other core values of ‘Employee engagement, Customer enthusiasm and Performance’ will be at the front of everything we do.”
Keep your eye on NewRoads, check out their dealership and their web site – newroads.ca and plan on attending one of the many community events they sponsor and/or host.
