NewRoads would like to congratulate Judy Brunton on being the April 2015 Awesome Foundation winner!
With the experience to back her up and many worthy causes under her belt we would like to congratulate Judy Brunton on being the April 2015 Awesome Foundation winner!
In the past Judy has built her fundraising empire through supporting the Easter Seals Run founded by Joe Persechini and has raised $40,000 for the cause! Over the last couple of years Mrs. Brunton has discovered a cause closer to her heart and will be shifting gears to support the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in York & South Simcoe. Through the up and coming June Ride Don’t Hide event and her One Stop Shop event in November, Judy hopes to raise $5,000 for CMHA and their MOBYSS initiative, targeted to help youths affected by mental illness.
We had the chance to sit down with the inspiring young lady and talk about her inspirations and goals for the future. When asked about her inspiration Brunton said, “My Son, he would much rather ride his bike any day”. Brunton also opened up to us and says that she will be participating in this ride in honour of her sister who is living with 6 different metal illnesses. It is easy to see that Brunton is full of passion for what she does and is AWESOME at what she does. She plans to use the half Awesome money to help pay for her One Stop Shop event, while the other half will go directly to the cause! Truly AWESOME!
