It’s time for wellies to wishes
It’s that time again… Wellies to Wishes is back and will be taking place on Saturday, April 20 at 7pm. Billed as Dufferin County’s most comfy cocktail event, Wellies To Wishes is the brainchild of Heather Hayes, a community member and volunteer. It is a unique fundraising event which combines fancy dress-wear and welly boots. Now in its fourth year, Wellies To Wishes is fast becoming one of Dufferin County’s premier fundraising events.
Do they really let you in the door wearing your wellies with dress-up cocktail dresses and suits? Absolutely! Many of the over 200 guests who attend Wellies To Wishes do just that. And while enjoying the unparalleled comfort that wearing comfy footwear provides, this years’ guests will also be enjoying a one-of-a-kind sampling of great food by local restaurateur and exceptional live entertainment by local performers. Local auctioneer Bob Severn will be on hand to oversee the auction again this year and you can visit the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Wellies2Wishes) to get an advance peak at the exceptional items up for grabs.
Tickets are only $60 each and proceeds from this year’s event once again go to support the Dufferin Children’s Fund. The Children’s Fund has three priorities:
Youth Futures: Supporting youth in their educational pursuits and life goals through post-secondary education, trade apprenticeship programs and job training.
Child and youth development: Enabling children and youth to participate in recreational, creative, social, and educational activities and lessons that would not otherwise be available to them.
Health and wellness: supporting children and families in ways that enhance their health and wellness, including purchase of medical equipment or supplies, paying for special nutritional requirements, and more.
This year, Wellies to Wishes is being held in the beautiful showroom at MacMaster Buick GMC (207171 Hwy 9 East, Orangeville) and will be hosted by David Nairn, Artistic Director with Theater Orangeville. It’s always a great time, so polish up those wellies and make sure you get your tickets today by visiting www.dcafs.on.ca or calling 519.941.1530 for more information.
