Offer some of the tastiest ribs barbecued by award winning ribbers, some great music, and top it off with a classic car show and you’ve got a summer weekend to remember.
The 8th annual Orangeville Rotary Ribfest will take over the grounds next to the Alder Street arena in Orangeville on July 14 – 17, with a full weekend of fun for the whole family.
The Ribfest Classic Car Show is returning this year for an evening of classic, vintage, and modified vehicles from around the region and beyond.
The show features around 100 vehicles including everything from beautifully restored antiques from the early 20th century right up through the decades including well kept classics from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.
While some owners prefer to keep their vintage vehicles in as close to original condition as possible, others like to chop, lower, paint, and modify their rides to produce a one-of-a-kind ride with their own personal stamp of originality.
Each one is unique and car owners love to talk to fellow auto enthusiasts about their vehicles and what makes them special.
The car show is sponsored by Orangeville Chrysler and MacMaster Buick GMC.
“It’s free admission. For car owners it’s free. They can register the day of the show. They can make a donation to the Rotary Club – it’s for a good cause but it’s totally optional,” Said MacMaster Buick GMC’s Business Relations Manager and car show organizer, David Murphy. “It’s a day of good food, good cars, and good music. We’ve got door prizes and a community award. In addition to classics we have special interest and custom cars.”
Car owners can show up and register their cars the day of the show.
The public can not only stroll around and appreciate all the vehicles they have the opportunity to vote on their favourite car.
Ribbers attending this year’s event include Boss Hogs, Gator BBQ, Billy Bones BBQ, Hawgs Gone Wild, Brickyard BBQ, and Crazy Canuck Smokers.
There is a full line-up of live music with bands that will be performing on the main stage and the popular beer tent is back so you can wash down you ribs with a cold one and enjoy the show.
Over 20,000 people attend the Ribfest every year.
The Ribfest Classic Car Show will take place on Saturday, July 15, on the grass area next to the Alder Street arena.
The cars will be on display from 3:00 p.m. through to 8:00 p.m.
As one of the biggest events held in Orangeville, the Ribfest not only provides a weekend of fun and entertainment, all funds raised at Ribfest support Rotary Club projects in the community.
