As the warm weather arrives, truck enthusiasts are making sure they have the right rubber on their vehicles to ensure optimum performance on the road for the summer months.
Whether you use your truck as a daily driver or an off-road adventure vehicle, Amar Uppal at Tire Junction in Bolton can advise you on the right tires to meet your needs and driving conditions.
Choosing the right tire can make all the difference when it comes to safety on the road.
Tire Junction carries a full line of truck tires up to and including the 3500 series of heavy-duty pickup trucks.
Truck tires are inherently different from regular car tires. Built to withstand a heavier load, truck tires generally use a six to ten ply configuration compared to car tires which have a four to five ply construction.
Engineered to stand up to more rigorous use, truck tires have stronger sidewalls designed to support the load of a heavy cargo.
“We do quarter ton, half ton, up to 3500’s,” explained Mr. Uppal. “Trucks tires are specially made to be anywhere from a six ply up to a ten ply. There are all-terrain tires, highway tires, even mud terrain tire.
People who like all-terrain tires have a tendency to go off-road with their trucks. On highway tires the tread patterns are a lot closer so when you are at higher speeds they are a lot quieter. Truck tires can carry a higher payload and take more of a beating. The tread is deeper on the all-terrain tires. We carry all the major brands.”
With the weather warming up, it is a busy time at Tire Junction with many drivers now switching back to summer tires. The shop carries a huge variety of tires for all vehicles and if they don’t have a particular tire in stock, they can get it.
“The difference between summer tires and winter tires is the compound on a winter tire is softer – it grabs the snow better,” Mr. Uppal explained. “Summer tires are designed for warmer weather. We install tires from a smaller 15-inch up to 22-inch tires. We carry a lot of different brands.”
Tire Junction also carries custom truck rims so you can personalize your vehicle.
“You can come in and we’ll show you the different makes and models and you can decide what you want. A lot people want a nice alloy, chrome, or polished rim to make their truck stand out.”
The auto shop at Tire Junction is a full service facility that handles all types of repairs.
With a qualified and friendly staff, they can advise you on the best type of tire for your truck.
