Every year, the Canadian International AutoShow held in Toronto manages to showcase some extra special, fantastic dream car as the show stopper.
This year the show will feature La Voiture Noire – an elegant and powerful vehicle built by French automaker Bugatti. It is referred to as a hyper sports car.
The car was designed and built to celebrate 110 years of the Bugatti brand.
It has been described a a modern interpretation of the classic Type 56 SC Atlantic which debuted 80 years ago.
Before you make plans to go to the dealership and order one, you should probably be aware that this vehicle comes with an $18 million price tag. In fact it is the most expensive new car in the world.
Even if you did have that kind of money laying around you’d still be out of luck. Bugatti has made only one of these super vehicles and it has already been sold.
The La Voiture Noire is a head turner, there’s no doubt about that.
With a carbon fibre body, you certainly won’t have to worry about rust. The molded body contours are stunning. With a rounded front grille and futuristic hood design, the La Voiture Noire stands out from every other sports car on the road.
It has real super hero / secret agent appeal.
The car made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show last year before beginning a world tour.
With the price tag comes some serious performance results.
The vehicle is powered by an 8 L, quad-turbocharged 16-cylinder engine that puts out 1500 horsepower.
With 1180 lb-ft of torque screaming down the drivetrain the car will go from zero to 60 in a blistering 2.5 seconds.
“Toronto has quickly gained a reputation as a super car mecca, and the Canadian International AutoShow is reflective of its host city by bringing some of the most unique and iconic hypercars from around the world to the show,” said Jason Campbell, General Manager of the AutoShow. “The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is one of the highest profile entrants in this sector, and one of the most beautiful and powerful cars we have ever been able to showcase.”
La Voture Noire, translates as literally ‘The Black Car,’ and that is a pretty apt description of what you’ll see. The overall colour translates very well into the shape of this vehicle.
There’s no word yet, but there is plenty of speculation as to who shelled out the money for this one-of-a-kind hyper sport car. As of now, no one has come forward to publicly admit future ownership.
The Canadian International AutoShow will take place on February 14 – 23, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
